Suburban Raptors is the result of a mild obsession I have with Birds of Prey. My name is Pete Burgess and I love to get out, eyes peeled, camera in hand searching for the Birds of Prey that live in my part of the world, the south west of Western Australia. I have developed a special interest over the last twenty years or so for the suburban dwelling Bird of Prey and a lot of my focus has been in the city and suburbs of Perth. Not a lot people realize that many cities throughout the world have 'raptors' inhabiting them, but they do. I'd like to be the one to introduce you to the Perth fraternity. Over the last twenty years I have seen 14 different species living in Perth. Eagles soaring high over the suburbs, Falcons dashing through traffic, Harriers floating majestically over suburban wetlands and Ospreys hunting from the lighting poles on the freeway.
